BEATLES With The Beatles AUSSIE BLACK & GOLD PARLOPHONE
FIRST MONO ISSUE LP (UNIQUE AUSSIE ONLY COVER DESIGN)
The Beatles – With The Beatles LP (orig. Australia MONO BLACK & GOLD Parlophone PMCO-1206—1964, flipback cover)
Recorded 18 July 1963 (tracks 10,12,14), 30 July 1963 (tracks 1,3,6-8), 11 September 1963 (tracks 2,13), 12 September 1963 (tracks 4,5,9,11) ~ Australian release date: 19 March 1964 (UK release date: 22 November 1963).
On offer here is one of the CROWN JEWELS of any Australian BEATLES collection. This ULTRA RARE BLACK & GOLD PARLOPHONE LABEL version of THE BEATLES second album is an ORIGINAL FIRST AUSTRALIAN MONO ISSUE released in March 1964. Andrew Bokor, an E.M.I. (Australia) employee, was responsible for the UNIQUE cover design. What makes this all the more desirable is that the BLACK & GOLD LABEL edition was available for a few weeks ONLY, thereafter replaced by the BLACK & YELLOW LABEL design.
The Matrix Number that appears on each run-off groove can be seen below:

GRADING
Cover:
FAIR front: beautiful laminated appearance despite some handling wear and creasing (GOOD).
back: significant handling wear, creasing, staining and spot peeling (FAIR). I scanned the back cover in four separate parts and then combined the images into one. This resulted in some shade variations in the digital pic!
Record:
POOR visual: NUMEROUS scuffs and scratches (nothing too deep). Quite warped unfortunately! A GAP-FILLER UNTIL A BETTER COPY TURNS UP - GOOD LUCK TRYING TO FIND ANOTHER!
audible: first two tracks on each side are unplayable due to a warp. However, the remaining tracks play OK with some underlying surface noise and crackle (NO skips or jumps).
labels: significant spindle wear.
