Description

The BEATLES UK-EU 1999 updated remake release of the Movie “Songtrack” of their 1968 film titled YELLOW SUBMARINE!!! It was originally from January 1969 with only 6 Beatles songs and 6 George Martin instrumentals. Nice, but a bit of a ripoff!! Because only 4 of the 6 Beatle songs were “new”, 2 from Lennon-McCartney and 2 from Harrison!! Some good instrumentals by the George Martin Orchestra but nothing spectacular!! So, by 1999 EMI decided to reissue this YS package with appropriate value, to go along with updated Video cassettes and DVDs of the film. This “songtrack” now contains 15 Beatles songs, all from the film!! They came from previous albums: RUBBER SOUL, REVOLVER, SGT PEPPERS, MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR, and The original YELLOW SUBMARINE!!! This one is still produced by George Martin. Fantastic!! As always!! And now another of the worlds most iconic covers on a record album! A beautiful cover! It is graded Goldmine NM because it is factory SEALED, I bought this copy SEALED. It is UNPLAYED. It is unopened!! And this limited edition was pressed with YELLOW vinyl. Allegedly there were BLACK vinyl copies pressed but in 20 years I’ve never seen one so I doubt it!! See photos 1-2. Other photos are used to show the expected labels and vinyl color! The album is truly Near Mint!!! I doubt EMI will ever reissue this vinyl LP again, so sealed copies are limited!! Classic hits here are: HEY BULLDOG, ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE, LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS, ELEANOR RIGBY and WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS. And my favorite from this batch, ITS ALL TOO MUCH. George’s imaginative epic love trip. Try to find the 8 minute version with extra verses!! Amazing!! Of course every song is a classic, even today, over 50 years later. The Beatles aimed at getting the LP to market to go with new releases if the redone videos! And all songs on This LP were originals written by Lennon McCartney, 11, and George Harrison, 4. They all still sound so fresh, with Incredible energy from the Boys as they attack your ears with superb melodies and harmonies! This is a beautiful record, quite wonderful sounding, the way the YS album should have been released in the 60s!! This LP is well kept factory SEALED and in plastic sleeve since its purchase by me in 1999. I quickly learned to handle them as little as possible, especially one of these “new” reissues which I thought would become rarer and greatly treasured!! Read more on “45cat”, my favorite worldwide discography site. Trying to price it is guesswork. Very few are up for sale from 1999. I guess the market will tell me what these are worth! This one is very nice! You decide!! See images, actual sale item, photos 1-2. Seller is 50+ year collector and keeper of all things Beatles related. Shipped with USPS Media Mail and Global Shipping Program. All purchases ship together for $5 total. So browse for others. Price reduces weekly till sold!! Who else does that??? Best to all! Beatle Lew.
