Very nice example of this sought-after album. This is the earliest 1st pressing with no printer credit or number on the bottom flipback and the following 1st press matrix numbers, 1st and 2nd mothers and very early (6th and 4th) stampers:

Side 1: XEX 715-1                  2                  P

Sleeve: Excellent minus (Ex-). The sleeve is nice and clean with no damage, writing, splits, tears or stickers etc and just light signs of use. There are some light creases around the edges and corners, most notably at the spine and the top opening corner, but there is nothing major anywhere. There is no wear to the laminated edges and spine, except at the corners, which have light wear. The spine is solid and firm and the text is all 100% readable. There are just light signs of use at the opening. The unlaminated rear is very clean and all the flipbacks are complete and intact. This is one of the best 1st press mono covers I've seen for Yellow Submarine.

Labels: Very Good plus (VG+), or better. No damage, writing, stickers etc, just some minor manufacturing blemishes and spindle marking.

Vinyl - visual grading: both sides around Very Good plus (VG+), or better. The vinyl looks great - it is perfectly flat and has retained its original high sheen. It has clearly been well cared for. Under bright light, some hairlines and fine marks were visible, but there is nothing significant anywhere.

Vinyl - play grading: Side one a safe Excellent (Ex) / side two a strict Very Good (VG). I have played the entire record and it sounds great. There is some soft background noise and crackle which can be heard in the quiet parts and the run-ins/outs, fades, silent grooves and intros and the occasional random click. But there is absolutely nothing loud or intrusive anywhere. Side one has very little to report - just some slight top-end distortion here and there (when listening through headphones), a handful of soft clicks in 'It's all too much' and five soft clicks in the fade and silent run-out groove at the very end of the side. Side one play-grades as a SAFE Excellent (Ex). The George Martin orchestral score on side two plays to a similar level except that there are some repetitive clicks in some of the tracks and so it is strictly graded as Very Good (VG), but the whole album was a real pleasure to listen to.

Inner sleeve: Very Good plus (VG+):  Original black Apple inner sleeve. No splits or tears just some minor signs of age and use - much better than most I've seen.

Visually-graded vinyl: Unless specifically stated in the listing, vinyl is visually graded.  A visual grading will identify physical flaws (such as scratches) and can help determine whether a record has been cared-for properly. I always do my best to give a fair assessment of any visible marks on the playing surface, but a visual grading will not identify noise or crackle caused by non-visible sources. Most of the records I sell are between thirty and fifty years old and so it is likely that there may be some background noise even if they look perfect. POSTAGE & PACKING

I care about the records I sell and believe that they need to be carefully and securely packaged to ensure that they survive their journey through the post. Vinyl is removed from the sleeve for posting and the contents will be protected with rigid cardboard. All packages are labelled "Do not bend" and securely sealed with "FRAGILE" parcel tape.

I support the use of recycled materials and so I may sometimes use recycled packaging.

Overseas P&P charges - totally transparent pricing

I need to cover the cost of postage and packing materials, but I try not to charge more for packing and posting your item than it actually costs me. I do not view P&P costs as a means of making money.

From September 2013 sellers get charged final value fees on the entire value of a transaction including P&P. This means that I get charged a 10% ebay fee and a 3% Paypal fee on the postage element (as well as on the value of the item). To reflect this I have had to adjust my P&P charges accordingly.

To quote an exact cost for every LP is difficult because of the wide variance in weight (e.g. Abbey Road weighs around 230 grams whereas Led Zeppelin III weighs around 390 grams). But the majority of single LPs, when packed, will weigh around 550 grams and I have based my P&P rates on this.

The basic postage cost (i.e. what the post office charges me) to send a 550 gram item using the services I offer, is as follows:

Europe, International signed for (insured up to £50) - £11.70

Europe, International signed for (insured over £50) - £14.30

Rest of the World (anywhere outside Europe), International signed for (insured up to £50) - £15.20

Rest of the World (anywhere outside Europe), International signed for (insured up to £50) - £17.80

I add a nominal £0.50 to cover the cost of packaging materials etc (it is often much more than this) and add 13% to cover the final value fees charged by ebay and Paypal. This is how I have arrived at the prices shown below.
