YELLOW SUBMARINE - a milestone in the history of Animated Cinema & Film
2 original Beatles items from 1969 - original 1st press mono LP and promo photo/info sheet poster from the Company that made the movie
this album & production company promotional information was acquired during my time (late 1960s early 70s) working at TV Cartoons Studios, London who animated, produced & directed the legendary Yellow Submarine Beatles movie in 1968.
In the TV Cartoons promotional information sheet there is a photo of the legendary Canadian director George Dunning, centre, (together with Producer John Coates & Animation artist John Cramer) who was the film's Animation Director. I would say this is a scarce item and one would have to search long & hard to find another. 2 direct illustrations to Yellow Submarine & background info & photos about the company & their range of talent & commissions
This item is double sided & more than twice the size of the album when opened out
The LP is an original mono LP and my research reveals it to be a first pressing.
Stamped matrix numbers are xex 715 - 1 & xex 716 -1
I have taken some photos of the vinyl, inner & outer covers and would describe their condition as very good to very good +
The vinyl has a fine high sheen, still, to the extent where if you look carefully at the some of the photos of the vinyl you will see the reflection of my hands whilst holding the camera to take some of the photos ..
I won't bang on too much about mega rare, impossible and all the old cliches re condition but will get real & just say that for an original 69 beatles mono album at a time when everybody, well nearly everybody apart from the vinyl fetishist, was just banging them onto their decks, it all looks pretty good
The vinyl still has a nice sheen and although I haven't played it for many moons i recollect somewhere, in the smoke'rings of the mind, that it still sounded pretty good on the last outing - spin .. there are a couple of light surface marks - find one that doesn't - but nothing to beat one's self up about. However a vinyl junkie, with the condition grading fetish, might find reason to have a nervous breakdown* re condition. Am not a definitive vinyl aficionado .. so will offer a full no quibble refund if you are not happy. The album has been stashed away for many years so expect a bit of mono static from the radon in the atmosphere or whatever has been building up out there in the intervening years
Inner & outer covers pretty good for 1969 items. Initials neatly on one label & back cover corner,
shock horror?!..
everyone - including that REAL NOWHERE MAN - has their own (often unrealistic) gradings - I would rate these covers as vg+ possibly ex- not mint but no tears repairs tape scuffs chewing gum whisky stains tea mug rings paint red wine spills or other meanies
