In the early 1980’s, EMI started to release special limited edition 7” picture discs each year to celebrate the officially released singles of The Beatles from 20 years prior.

Beginning with ‘Love Me Do’ in 1982 and ending with ‘Let It Be’ in 1990, these “20th Anniversary” limited edition picture discs  were released 20 years after the original release date to precisely the exact day as the marketing of them would permit.

The full set of 22 limited edition release dates, along with the originally first release dates is as follows:

As you can see from the above dates, waiting for these picture discs with anticipation of their release was a long drawn out time to get the whole collection –but I waited and I collected them.

Now is the time for me to offer them onto the open market.

Includes original clear plastic sleeve and any inserts.

These picture discs do indeed play great but obviously not as good as original thick black vinyl of the 1960’s, therefore I have not played them.

The Vinyl

Glossy vinyl. Crystal clear imagery with a deep shine. These are now getting incredibly rare ! A great example here of this  rare vinyl.

The Sleeve

Original clear plastic with insert as/where shown in the images.

RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE U.K. GRADINGS:

Mint:                    The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration of sound quality.

Excellent:           The record shows some signs of having been played but there is lessening of sound quality.

Very Good:         The record has obviously been played many times but displays no deterioration of sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and an occasional light scratch.

Good:                  The record has been played so much the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.

Fair:                     The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise. It may even jump.

Poor:                   The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc.

Bad:                    The record is unplayable and might even be broken and is only of use as a collection filler.
