ARTIST: THE BEATLES
TITLE: RUBBER SOUL
LABEL: PARLOPHONE PCS 3075
CONDITION: VG+/VG+
This is a first press stereo copy of this iconic 60s LP with matrix numbers YEX 178 2 and YEX 179 2 on the run out groove. Stampers are L, GR. There label has 'Gramophone Co Ltd' and 'Sold in the UK' text. The cover is printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd with 'patents pending' text. The inner is poly lined with 'stereophonic record' and 'playing' / 'handing' text printed on it.
The visual condition of this record overall is VG+ properly graded according to the standards set out below. It plays closer to EX with very little deterioration in sound quality other than some light static on the run in and occasionally between tracks but there are absolutely NO obtrusive clicks, skips, hiss or loud crackles. A typical deep groove 60s pressing weighing 160 grams.
In more detail the vinyl has several light non sounding marks seen under bright angled light but no deep scratches, the labels have some minor spindle wear but are still VG at least, the cover graded VG+ is crease free, with a clean unlaminated rear and only minor opening edge and corner wear - the top rear corner is rounded slightly so I have shown it in a photo. There is a small area of wear on the top edge which is shown for buyers' information.
Altogether an excellent playing copy of this LP. It is not mint but then try finding a mint copy. This copy is definitely a very collectible and valuable copy of this LP.

GRADINGS: I use the Record Collector Price Guide grading definitions.
1. Mint: New condition. no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Other items must be perfect. Sealed copies are assumed to be unplayed mint.
2. Excellent: Record shows signs of having been played but there is little lessening of the sound quality. Cover and other items may have slight wear.
3. Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality. despite noticeable surface marks, light scratches and scuffs. Normal wear and tear on other items is acceptable.
4. Good: The record as been played so much there is noticeable deterioration in sound quality with mild distortion, clicks and and hiss. The cover will be scuffed, spine maybe split and corners/edges worm and frayed.
5. Fair/ Good: Just playable but with much surface noise, skips, clicks and frankly unless its really rare I won't be selling anything like this
ABOUT ME: I have been collecting records for 50 years and the records I sell I have bought to keep originally. If you check back through my 100% feedback you'll find most of my feedback is for record sales. I haven't sold anything for a few a years though, so it's not recent (as of Feb 2018). Like a lot of old musos I have to downsize my collection, hard as that is, especially since I seem to keep buying new stuff. So I know what it's like to be disappointed with a purchase and for that reason I try to be objective in my descriptions. But please read the the listing carefully. Although grading is not an exact art, 'very good' records won't be 'mint' or even 'excellent'. I generally only describe appearance and I only mention sound quality if I've replayed the record prior to listing it. If there's a noticeable 'feelable' mark I'll play that to ascertain whether its an issue and I will mention it.

RETURNS: Ebay policies apply. But I have had frivolous claims in the past because bidders have not read the listing carefully and hoped for a better quality record than that described. Again I sympathise as a buyer myself. But before you complain please ask yourself whether the record really is not as described. Obviously if I have slipped up and overgraded a record by mistake, I will not hesitate to refund the purchase price in full.
