This is a really nice example of an early Please please me album on the original black & gold label which are becoming more and more scarce. This one is the rarer of the two 1st press labels as it has the Northern Songs credits instead of the usuall Dick James, not only this but it has the DECCA ring indentation on the label of side 2 and even more strange it has a normal label on side 1. I myself have never seen such a unique pressing of this album.
To add to all this it has very very early 1st pressing stamps of 1T & 1M and the MT tax code stamp from 1st january to July 1963.
Both of the labels are in Excellent condition apart from a name wriiten in black ink on side 1 but it is black on black so it is discrete and could be removed if wanted. Both sides of the vinyl are very good++ bordering excellent, there are a couple of marks but they do not effect play in any way as it plays Excellent+ throughout.
The sleeve is really nice and it makes a change as these are usually pretty beat up but this is a nice example, the front is Excellent, the spine is Excellent+ and the rear is Very good+ due to some flipback creasing.
If all this was not enough there are 2 extra peices of memorabilia that I found inside the sleeve both date back to to 1963 ish and have been together with the album since then. There is a great photo depicting the Beatles from the early mania era and a programme style book with all of the information about the beatles from the begining.A nice couple of extras that I thought were best kept together with the album they have accompanied for the past nearly 50 years!
