Description
BEAUREGARDE : Beauregarde LP (Sound Productions / F-Empire [USA] SP-7104)
Record is Excellent with minimal light marks only; cover is VG+ with a 2" split in the middle of the bottom seam, one long diagonal scratch across the back, and a small tear at the bottom of the back slick. I'm a bit confused about the pressing history of this LP, as everyone on the internet seems to have conflicting info. A few sources indicate that there are three pressings: one on F-Empire, one on Sound Productions, and one reproduction (from the late '80s or so). However, there is some disagreement about whether the F-Empire pressing or the Sound Productions pressing was original. This copy has "Sound Productions" on the cover, (with no mention of F-Empire) F-Empire labels (with no mention of Sound Productions), but the Sound Productions catalog number (SP-7104) in the dead wax. Fuzz Acid & Flowers only lists one pressing, with F-Empire the label and SP-7104 the catalog number. So maybe there was only one "real" pressing (plus the repro) but the two label names have caused the confusion (the cover/label/matrix of this copy would seem to support that theory). So, anyway, I don't know whether this is an original or not - I suppose it could be the reproduction (supposedly from circa '87), but it certainly doesn't look like one (adding to the confusion, I've never seen a copy of the repro, so I can't say for sure). Anyone who wishes to enlighten me on this is welcome to do so. As for the record, it's heavy blues-rock by some professional wrestler, and it features Greg Sage and Dave Kolpel, later of the Wipers.
