Insanely RARE 1968 US White Label Promo MONO Edition!
This mono mix was created for and distributed to AM radio stations exclusively, and was NEVER available for sale to the general record-buying public!
As you can see, this LP was issued in a standard stereo jacket, which carries the regular stereo catalog number SD 33-264. However, it is marked as a mono promo by the orange "PROMOTIONAL d/j monaural NOT FOR SALE" sticker which adorns the front. However, each disc side carries a unique white promo label, which removes mention of the word "STEREO", and instead carries the text "SAMPLE COPY NOT FOR SALE" in its place. Furthermore, the labels display the unique mono catalog number, 33-264 (the "SD-" prefix has been removed, as it indicates a stereo album).
These Atlantic promo-exclusive mono releases are swiftly becoming the stuff of legend, with many titles not even having been documented until they come up for sale! This release is no exception, with no mention of it in any price guide, print or digital! We guarantee that there were no more than 100 pressed, and assure you that it is one of the few to survive years of airplay abuse, and one of the few that you will EVER see!
Vinyl Grade: VG+ - Only very minor signs of the play-wear, although both sides are still mostly glossy (ironically). Really no scratches (other than some faint sleeve marks). This rare, glorious MONO mix will be well-represented!
Jacket Grade: EX - There's a small sticker mark on the front, although that's pretty much it. Red promo sticker still in place and looking sharp!
