NM (Near Mint): This is the highest grade for a used record. Record looks un-played, or possibly played a time or two.
NM- (Near Mint-): May have some light sleeve marks that don't affect sound. Probably played only played a few times.
VG++ (Very Good++): May have a light surface mark that won't affect the play, perhaps a light pop or tick noise at the very worst. Overall, a nice clean record.
VG+ (Very Good+): May have light surface noise or have a few light pops, but nothing major. May have visible light marks.
VG or VG- (Very Good or Very Good-): Will have surface noise, pops and obvious scratches. Will not skip.
