Lovely promo copy of the 1963 first pressing of Beethoven's fifth symphony conducted by Herbert von Karajan on Deutsche Grammophon LP 138 804 SLPM. Original 1963 German red stereo pressing with the tulip label and "Sample - Not For Sale" sticker on the front and on the side one label. This is one of the all-time most beloved recordings of this symphony, and that says a lot because it is probably the most recorded piece of music in the world. This is truly a special version, and it sounds just wonderful on a beautiful original copy like this one. The disc is stunning and plays pretty much flawlessly and just beautifully. There are maybe a couple of very light superficial sleeve scuffs but barely. They don't affect the play in the least. The cover has a little wear but not nearly as much as is usual for flimsy 1960s DGG covers. There is a bit of edgewear and very faint ringwear, and some light creasing, but not much. Really it is quite nice, compared to most originals. This is a beautiful original promo copy of this classic. Hard to beat.
