For sale here is a VERY rare LP. THE THIRD(especially in this condition) by BEGGARS OPERS called " PATHFINDE " and is an ORIGINAL 1972 UK STEREO 1st Pressing on the 1st Press VERTIGO SWIRL label. THIS LP IS MEGA RARE AND VERY DIFFICULT TO LOCATE. THIS IS ONE OF BEGGARS OPERA's RAREST LP's EVER, AND HARDLY EVER TURNS UP FOR SALE... TRY AND GET HOLD OF ANOTHER ONE!..NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS IN STUNNING CONDITION...(have a look at my photo's) THIS IS THE ORIGINAL UK 1972 STEREO 1st PRESSING ON THE 1st PRESS VERTIGO SWIRL LABEL. 1st PRESS 1//1 / 2//1 MATRIXES,  AND 1st PRESS MATT FINISHED FOLD OUT POSTER  SLEEVE...THIS LP IS MEGA RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND - SO DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS ULTRA RARE RECORD...this is the ORIGINAL VERTIGO SWIRL UK 1st pressing from 1972 and is in STUNNING condition!..The record is pressed on a slab of THICK black quality vinyl. The Cat no. is 6360 073 on the 1st press VERTIGO SWIRL label...(have a look at my photo's) and is a UK STEREO 1st Pressing..

Labels are the sensational Vertigo swirl format in excellent condition.With the largeVirtigo swirl logo covering the whole label on side A. and the small vertigo swirl above the central hole on side B. to confirm that this is the very first issue of this magnificent rarity.Has a few very minor spindle lines, to indicate that the record has possibly only been played 2 or 3 times!! With NO damage of any kind. NO graffiti , NO rips NO tears, and NO sticker marks and would therefore grade as excellent ++

Vinyl

Thickly pressed heavy weight  vinyl pressing with jet black mirrior like surfaces That have that just pressed look!!. A magnificent vintage classic . Against a strong halogen light and angled at 45 degrees , There are NO surface marks,NO scratches or blemishes at all!! NO tiny faint wispy lines are visible whatsoever!!.An awsome visual and impossible to locate in this condition!!!.Would therefore grade as near as mint

Sleeve

First issue matt finished fold out poster style sleeve is showing some signs of storage wear at the edges, corners and folds with a couple of pin holes accross the folds. The sleeve has NO rips, NO tears, NO graffitti or stickers whatsoever, but has some minor scuffing to the reverse (see pic's) but is a pleasure to view.The sleeve is very good condition!!! and a Fantastic collectors item . The Spine is perfectly straight with some minor wear. This is a fine example of this sensational Vertigo swirl classic .

Beggars Opera was formed in Glasgow in 1969, by Ricky Gardiner guitarist and played their first gig on the 3rd Dec in that year.

Martin Griffiths, singer, and Marshall Erskine,





bass had played with Ricky Gardiner in school band the System, and had worked with him through the blistering hot summer of the Moon landings 1969 on the M40 Motorway Beaconsfield Bypass, to earn some cash.
With the proceeds from this and a loan of £1.000 from Ricky's uncle, John Spence, they were able to purchase their famous cool white Marshall stacks.

Alan Park, organist, was in a residency at the Locarno Ballroom , when he was approached by the band, and Raymond Wilson, drummer of the Beings, was auditioned after responding to the band's newspaper add.
Virginia Scott, who had been studying piano in Italy ,was requested to join the band as their composer of original music in 1970.
With their shiny new equipment and a repertoire of progressive rock covers they quickly landed the Saturday morning spot at the Burns Howff in Glasgow, thanks to John Waterson then proprietor.

my records are condition graded visually in accordance with Record Collector's Grading System as follows:

MINT (M): Unplayed, pristine condition, often still sealed.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in almost brand new condition with no apparent surface marks, full original vinyl lustre, and no deterioration in sound quality.The cover and any extra items are in near perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and/or packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record obviously has been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover and/or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has deteriorated noticeably, perhaps with some distortion and/or scratches. The cover and/or contents may suffer from folding, scuffing, spine-splits, major discolouration, etc.
