BEGGARS OPERA - WATERS OF CHANGE
A solid very good plus condition copy of this 1971 UK 1st press prog gem with the truly excellent stereo sound quality being a real highlight
Excellent (EX) condition vinyl - completely flat and displaying a beautiful jet black sheen, in normal daylight both sides of the vinyl come across as unmarked and it is only with close scrutiny under a bright light that just a few extremely faint paper scuff/graze lines can be identified : purely superficial and certainly nothing to impinge upon the start-to-finish wonderful stereo audio quality. Very good plus (VG+) condition labels : close inspection under a bright light reveals a few small and faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label, but no other blemishes at all. In fact if it wasn't for the fact that the side 2 label has a name written on it then I would have no hesitation in grading the condition of each label as "excellent". A solid very good (VG) condition non-laminated outer sleeve -firm edges, including the spine, though each edge has some mild intermittent scuffing (no edge splits) which is more continuous towards the corners. Neverthless the spine text remains legible and there is no cardboard creasing (just a couple of mild surface "crinkles"), the corners remain nicely defined right angles but with mild rubbing on each, there is no foxing on the opening edges, the inside of the gatefold is excellent with just a few very, very mild light handling/storage marks towards the bottom edges, and all colours, art work, photos and text remain nicely intact. The only other blemishes (each mild) are some very mild ring wear on each of the front and reverse side and a few mild and non-ovious score lines and tiny indentations next to the "WATERS OF CHANGE" text on the front side. Do take a close look at my photos where I have tried to provide an accurate portrayal of the condition of this gatefold...some blemishes but remaining fully functional and very presentable. Superb excellent plus (EX+) stereo audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, distortion or interference, clicks or background crackle. Crystal clear stereo sound quality throughout with great tone and each and every track a great listen...such an underrated and, at the time of it's original release, "under the radar" album. There is complete silence on both sides during the run-in's and run-off's which is always a sure sign that the record has been well cared. Comes with original poly-lined Vertigo swirl inner sleeve with no side splits or tears but there is some creasing in the corners and mild age discolouration towards the edges. There is a small newspaper cut-out of forthcoming Marquee gigs (dating from 1971 I believe) stuck onto the top corner of the inner sleeve - it is probably removeable but I have left it there since it serves as a good conversation point! Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original. Increasingly rare and sought after 1971 UK 1st press prog gem - sparingly played, superb audio, and a valuable addition to any vinyl prog collection.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
