Description

Here is a blank that I recently came across, it is DON DRUMMOND Belleview special with no more on flip( slow version of same title)
The only marking is a faint matrix CR23 on the run out
The vinyl seems in excellent- / vg plus condition with good shine and no marks but there seems to be pressing fault that causes minor skip, this is not on the A side but on B ( no more)
This track is one of the most sought after Ska tracks by the Legandary trombone player and rude boy from The Alpha boys school who's pupils went on to form the Skatalites and who in turn went on to play horns on reggae tracks from the golden period
Don Drummond was arrested for killing his girlfriend Margarita ( singer)and later went mad. Ironically he died in Belleview hospital in may 6 1969
He was believed to the best trombonist in the world
He was an orphan at the alpha boys school in west kingston and probably partly responsible for the name rude boy
Another Alpha boy Johnie Moore brought a young Robert Marley in under his wing and recorded simmer down Diamond baby and One love(ska) for coxone at Studio 1 and the rest is.......
