TRIBUTE TO MICHAEL HOLLIDAY - LIVE (1964) OC Album Recorded at the Prince Of Wales Theatre, London, on April 19th, 1964. (British entertainer MICHAEL HOLLIDAY had died tragically in October of 1963.) This Concert was initiated by Russ Conway to set up a Trust Fund for Michaels young son, and all the artists donated their services in order to assist this noble cause. Among the stars who appeared at this Benefit Concert in honour of Holliday were: LIONEL BART, BING CROSBY, ALMA COGAN, DAVID FROST, JESSIE MATTHEWS, PETER & GORDON, DOROTHY SQUIRES, PEARL CARR & TEDDY JOHNSON and DONALD SWANN and others. NORRIE PARAMOR, RUSS CONWAY and THE MIKE SAMMES SINGERS backed the performers. Liner notes are by Russ Conway, Norrie Paramor and Bing Crosby. Notable among the performers are LIONEL BART, singing two of his songs from "OLIVER!", and JESSIE MATTHEWS singing two of the great Rodgers and Hart songs - 'Dancing On The Ceiling' and 'My Heart Stood Still'. The album was released on COLUMBIA/EMI Records in the U.K. Record number 33SX-1635. The vinyl is in LIKE NEW condition, and the cover is EXCELLENT to near like new. (Has some minor ringwear and similarly minor crease at the opening. Overall, it is in fine shape. Check the pictures area for the program and artist titles.
