BENIAMINO GIGLI FULL OPERA RECORDINGS AND OTHERS RARE BRAZIL ONLY 25 LP BOX SET
You are bidding on very rare Brazil only 25 LP Box Set on EMI-Angel 31 C 163 53093/17M (1978, Mono) of all Opera recordings on the EMI-HMV label of the great Italian Tenor Beniamino Gigli, as well as some Lieder recordings which occupies 16 sides of this album. Further to the Opera and Lieder recordings, there is also, as a bonus, a very rare Brazil only recording of his last recital in Brazil given at Teatro Joao Caetano in Rio de Janeiro on June 24, 1951 which was broadcasted and recorded by Radio Jornal do Brasil which occupies 2 sides of this album. The following full opera recordings are included:

· CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA (PIETRO MASCAGNI) - Recorded in April 194o in Milan
· I PAGLIACI (LEONCAVALLO) - Recorded in July 1934 in Milan
· AIDA (VERDI) - Recorded in July 1946
· TOSCA (PUCCINI) - Recorded in 1938
· LA BOHEME (PUCCINI) - Recorded in 1938
· MADAMA BUTTERFLY (PUCCINI) - Recorded in 1939
· UN BALLO IN MASCHERA (VERDI) - Recorded in July 1943
This box set comes with its original Portuguese written 58-page booklet, which includes many nice b/w pictures of Gigli in Brazil, as well as the librettos for all operas contained on this album. The booklet cover is lose and shows some age stain marks. The internal pages are in overall very good condition, except for some pencil written notes on page 4. The beautiful green velvet lined box is in VG++ condition with some age staining on the spine. All 25 LPs are in NM/NM+ condition.
