BENNIE GREEN – BACK ON THE SCENE – BLUE NOTE BLP 1587 – VG+ - MONO – 47 WEST 63RD STREET – NOT DEEP GROOVE – PLEASE ALLOW SIX PHOTOS TO OPEN
Recorded at Van Gelder’s studio on March 23, 1958, this Blue Note session features Bennie Green on trombone, Charlie Rouse on tenor, Joe Knight on piano, George Tucker on bass and Louis Hayes on drums. Their selections are: SIDE 1: I LOVE YOU; MELBA’S MOOD and JUST FRIENDS. SIDE 2: YOU’RE MINE YOU; BENNIE PLAYS THE BLUES and GREEN STREET
This Blue Note is NOT deep groove. I’ve listed this LP as VG+. The LP has one very slight mark on Side 1. that doesn't interfere with play. It may also be the pressing. It’s difficult to see, except under the right light and the right position. It is on track One. Other than that, the LP shows no sign of wear, as well as the spindle hole. The address is 47 West 63rd St. on both the LP and the album cover. The album cover shows very little wear, except on the lower right corner and some of the lamination has come off. As mentioned above the address on the album cover is 47 West 63rd St. as is the LP. Inside the album cover is Jordan Marsh Co. tag.
