Description
BENNIE GREEN “Back on the Scene” RVG, P, DG, LAM, Blue Note BLP 1587 Mono Vinyl
This is 1958, first edition, “RVG” stamped, Laminated Cover, Deep Groove, 220 GRAM, “P” pressing of BENNIE GREEN’s “Back on the Scene” on the "47 West 63rd” labels of Blue Note BLP 1587. Musicians include Bennie Green – trombone, Charlie Rouse - tenor saxophone, Joe Knight – piano, George Tucker – bass, Louis Hayes - drums.
VINYL plays with consistent low level surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with pops and ticks. Light groove-wear audible throughout both sides, beneath the music but consistent. More noticeable on ballads. Ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong. No skips. No distortion. Okay gloss. Many hairline marks, couple feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The Deep Groove “47 West 63rd” labels are clean, spindle wear. See photos.
LAMINATED COVER is in good shape. Corners worn. Seams and spine taped end to end. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 47 West 63rd St., New York 23” back jacket shows wear, tape residue, tape, two large repair zones, covered in whiteout. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
