Description

PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN OPENED LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER).  OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.


INSANELY RARE original Rudy Van Gelder mastered BLP 4010 deep groove first pressing from 1959 in glorious mono with Plastylite ear dead wax stamps, 63rd Steet NYC address in the upper label rim text, no copyright C under the E in NOTE at the bottom of the label and "Complete Catalog" text at the bottom on the rear cover!!!  LP side 2 is easily VG+, close to VG++, with a few light paper scuffs and side 1 is VG++ with even fewer and lighter paper scuffs.  Cover is VG/VG- with a small barely visible 2" piece of thin transparent tape at the bottom middle, a small light stain on the tip of the bottom left hand corner on the rear only and some age discoloration on the rear.  This is the copy you want to play and enjoy.  Original first mono pressings in this condition are frighteningly hard to find so don't sleep Blue Note collectors.


I USE GOLDMINE GRADING~ MINT (SEALED)  NEAR MINT: LOOKS UNPLAYED VG++:  VERY VERY MINIMAL SIGNS OF US VG+:  AVERAGE SIGNS OF USE, NOTHING DEEP, SUPERFICIAL VG:  STILL AN OK RECORD, NOISE BETWEEN SONGS GOOD: WORN BUT PLAYS FINE WITH DISTRACTING NOISE POOR:  FILLER COPY ONLY.  LOTS OF SCRATCHES
