Original German pressing from 1959 on BERTELSMANN SCHALLPLATTENRING,61 161,High Fidelity.Original green,deepgrooved label.Ultraheavy non-flexible vinyl:265 gram!The record was only available for members of the Bertelsmann record-club,it’s a rare low-quantity edition,this copy is a real early pressing with non-flexible vinyl,as only the earliest pressings of this record had,the later pressing were lighter and flexible!Amazing sound-quality.The tracks were recorded live in Berlin,January 16.-19.1959.The german subtitle translates as “Highlights of the German Jazz Salon Berlin”.

One of the essential European modern jazz records,all tracks are exclusively issued on this LP,a great document of one of the most exciting periods of eurojazz!

Condition:the record has been stored in it’s original PVC sleeve and is therefore in great shape:it looks and plays in mint- to mint-- on all tracks,except the last one:this one has a pressing-imperfection as 50ies pressings sometimes tend to have,there are some tiny bubbles/marks of the size of the tip of a needle.This causes some occasional soft and low tics behind the music,mostly it’s only one singular tic,sometimes there are 3 to 4 in a row.It is a real long track and there are just a few of these tics,it is not really seriously disturbing.The rest of the LPs looks and plays very close to perfect.

The thin and sensitive papercover is in much better condition than the ones you usually see(mostly with tears and heavy darkening/discolouration),it has only slight rub on the intact seams/spine,it shows slight ringwear(very little on the front,a bit more on the back),there’s very moderate shelf-,age- and cornerwear,overall ex+.

Grading:this used record has been cleaned on a prof. cleaning machine.After that I playgraded it on a Rega Planar 9 with a Rega Super Elys moving magnet system and I also visually graded the record under a strong light.I give you a detailed description of both gradings.Only an unplayed record is mint,the highest grading for a used record is mint-! My basic gradings are:mint-ex-vg.As a free service,cleaned records are stored in a brandnew deluxe innersleeve and the cover will be placed in a brandnew PVC protection-sleeve!
