BESSIE BANKS – I Can't Make It (Without You Baby) / Need You

Label: Verve Records – VK-10519

Format: Vinyl, 7", 45 RPM, Single, Promo ("Special Disc Jockey Record")

Year: 1967

Genre: Northern Soul / Deep Soul

An absolute holy grail for Northern Soul and 60s Soul completionists—a Near Mint+ / Unplayed original 1967 US Verve Records DJ Promo pressing of Bessie Banks' double-sided masterpiece ("I Can't Make It (Without You Baby)" b/w "Need You"). Produced by Tony May with lush arrangements by Horace Ott, this record stands as one of the most underplayed and sought-after soul 45s of its era.

• Original US Promo First Pressing: Features the iconic blue/teal Verve "Special Disc Jockey Record" promo label.

• Unplayed / Archives-Grade Condition: The vinyl surfaces retain full, mirror-like original factory gloss with no sleeve scuffs, hairline marks, or play wear.

• Label Perfection: Sharp, deep blue ink with zero spindle trails around the center hole, confirming its unplayed status.

• Audiophile Storage: Preserved in a clean paper inner sleeve and maintained in a climate-controlled environment.

Note on Sleeve: The record is housed in a standard vintage protective paper sleeve. As shown in photos, there is a small lime-green archive/price sticker on the top-right corner of the paper sleeve itself. The vinyl and labels themselves remain completely untouched and pristine.

Professional Packaging

• Secure Handling: Your record will be shipped in a dedicated, heavy-duty cardboard mailer (LP or 45 specific) with extra cardboard stiffeners to prevent bending or crushing.

• Pro-Tip Protection: To prevent seam splits during transit, all opened records are shipped with the vinyl removed from the jacket (housed in its inner sleeve) and placed behind the jacket within a 4mil clear poly outer sleeve.

• 45s: 7" records are shipped with the same level of care in dedicated 7-inch mailers.
