Debbie Burton is the singing voice of the young Baby Jane in this classic Bette Davis & Joan Crawford thriller. Who could ever forget her enchanting rendition of "I've Written a Letter to Daddy" to her hungry vaudeville audiences. The song "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?" was taken from the DeVol soundtrack with novelty words written for the young and the old Baby Jane to sing as a duet. The music can specifically be heard in the film during the scene where Joan Crawford is madly typing a note begging for help, then rolling over to the barred window, hanging on the bars and throwing the crumbled note toward her gardening neighbor ("that nosey Mrs. Bates") with a woeful "PLEEEEASE?" The music drowns out her voice, just as Jane's car whizzes in the driveway blowing the crumbled note toward Mrs. Bates. Unfortunately Jane is the one who retrieves the note and poor Blanche will pay dearly! This very rare 45 comes with the original MGM Picture sleeve that came with only a few pressings.
