My first and probably favorite Beverly Kenny LP. The album should be titled, Johnny Smith accompany's Beverly Kenny. This amazing young woman had won the acclaim of many the genre;s finest musicians like the Jazz Guitarist Johnny Smith. She was well known on the club scene and the critics had nothing but good things to say.She attained some commercial success, but remains widely unknown to the public. I began collecting her LP's here on eBay in 1999. A few thousand bucks later ... :-) I am selling off some of the duplicates that I have acquired over the years.
I bought this LP because I am a great fan of the late Johnny Smith, The moment I put his LP on the turntable it was all over! I paid a considerable amount for this LP and like a few others at the time was not as satisfied with the Seller's grading. Do not get me wrong, this record is a great listen, but I am not going to tell you that it is in 'Excellent Condition' (like right below NM). This as well as all of her other ORIGINAL releases are almost impossible to find. 'VG++' copies can easily cost $250-$400.
I consider the Vinyl to be in Good condition. I recommend a Deep Cleaning (like VPI or your own system). Mine is out of commission at the moment. The cover is in two pieces - Front and Back. It was a clean break.
Even if you have the re-issues, here's you're chance to own a very rare LP at a low price. There is simply no substitute for analog recording like this. Go ahead and get the CD or the Japanese Vinyl (it's awesome). Again though, this is the real deal.
