It's not often we feel compelled to quote from record label materials, but given how apt this point is when it comes to Meditations, we'd be doing you a disservice by trying to put it any other way. The rightly celebrated (in all the right circles) Bhajhan Boy once again picks up the metaphorical brush and canvas, and begins painting worlds for our ears. Accordion, piano, yangqin, synths, guitars, bass, banjo, harp and more evolve deeply arresting arrangements, packed with atmosphere, weight, resonance and a strange kind of stillness in flux. As appropriately titled a record as you will find this year, post-rock-experimental-ambient stuff which casts a spell and takes you wherever you want to go.
