Description

Big Bopper "Chantilly Lace"/"Purple People Eater Meets Witch Doctor" D 1008 released in 1958. This is the first pressing of Chantilly Lace, D was a small Texas label, after scoring a regional hit with "Chantilly Lace", Mercury picked up the tune and it went national and was a very big hit for J.P. Richardson AKA The Big Bopper. As you probably know, The Big Bopper was tragically killed in the February 1959 plane crash in Iowa that also killed Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens. The vinyl is in very clean VG++ condition, the labels are pristine. The record looks like it has had very little use. This is the original first pressing of this 45.
