BIG BOY PETE
"COLD TURKEY" / "MY LOVE IS LIKE A SPACESHIP"

7" on the original and obscure CAMP RECORDS lable 602005 from 1968


This is a THUNDEROUS freak-beat psych single from the strange and wonderful 'MILLER'
moonlighting under the pseudonym BIG BOY PETE for this brilliant 45.
He's something of a 60's enigma for his beyond bizarre (at least very unusual!) take on lyrics and subject matter.
You have got to love 'Baby I Got News For You', with the weird foreign accent on the vocal - WHY?
....but it completely works!
Well, so does this out-on-another-limb slice of wonder. 'Cold Turkey' is a hip-slinging beat-buster that will do nicely at the mod dance-hall (sixties clubs freakin' rule!) The flip side is way out, a slinky sultry vocal beckons us to relate to the concept that their love "is like a spaceship" in some way. Cool! I'll go along with that story.
Anyway, here's a totally FAB single, and a worthy record for collectors of great and freaky 60's beat!
