Active for only five years from between 1979-1984, Big Boys are often credited as being one of the pioneering bands in the skate punk movement. Appearing in Thrasher skateboarding magazine and on Thrasher's Skate Rock compilation records, they were one of the first acts out of Austin, Texas to begin incorporating more frenetic hardcore punk motifs into their chaotic sound whilst also utilising elements of what would later be dubbed "funk metal". This in turn, would influence the next wave of bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers who even garnered the nick name "The Little Big Boys" and supported their peers at several early DIY shows. Recut and remastered, this LP compilation offers up their 1980 debut Frat Cars 7" as well as 1982's Fun, Fun, Fun 12" EP, restored to their maximum blueprint power.
