Description
Welcome to Heart of Wax - Vinyl online record shop. I shall endeavour to post up as many exciting records up here that I find. Usually all from private collections which I've sourced. I'm happy to post out records to the UK, Europe and the Rest of The World (please see prices below). Generally each record is secondhand and has been played. All have been cleaned and listened to by myself. And if there are any faults or defects, I will provide them in an honest description below.

BIG SLEEP - BLUEBELL WOOD
Very rare and highly collectable. Some damage to sleeve. LP is VG-Ex.
UK press from 1971. Original called Eyes Of Blue this Welsh quintet were struggling to set fire to anything. Album's weren't landing, gigs were pretty pointless. Their manager decided to change their name to BIG SLEEP. This is their third and final album. The last throw of the dice.
This is a showcase of what the band could actually do. A bright and bouncy mix of R&B, psyche, classical and pop elements. Unusually the group had two keyboardists - so the counterpoint to most songs is a lavish organ flourish. Definitely not a bad thing. Acoustic guitars enhance the rich atmospheres, usually following the organ's lead. It sounds very improvisational but in face it's all very tight and well structured showing that they were good musicians. Perhaps the old 'Eye of Blue' group wanted to ensure the left something of a imprint for the future.
Not that I know, because I wasn't even born in 1971 (ouch)! It was the epic eleven minute long title track that sent prog rock fans absolutely wild. Filled with grand up-tempo dynamics, downbeat blues shifting into cosmic psychedelia before the band breaks into full rock mode with soaring vocals and well executed guitar solos.
Yet the album failed to excite the masses and the band never even got on stage as Big Sleep. Wandering off into the Bluebell Wood with obscurity. Which is exactly why this is hugely collectable.

POSTAGE
Due to high price this is a free postage service
INTERNATIONAL POSTAGE
I have offered European and international postage to people on other records which I sell. However one particular continental customer has sent through some horrible feedback and been rather abusive - so I'd prefer to now only ship to somewhere in the UK from here on in. Shame really that we all can't get along. But that's the modern world for you.
It doesn't mean I won't ship abroad but you'll have to send me a message so I can figure out a postage price and whether or not I'm happy to ship this, or any item out to you. Everyone deserves a second chance.
All the best.
