BILL BISSETT & MANDAN MASSACRE - AWAKE IN THE RED DESERT (See/ Hear ST55850) 1968
Up for auction is an EXTREMELY RARE original CANADIAN pressing of this experimental, private press, PSYCH masterpiece. Cool Psychedelic styff with sound poetry and really early minimal electronics. Limited to 500 COPIES with 2 of the 3 original Bill Bissett art inserts.
Vinyl is in decent shape, some storage wear and lots of light, surface scratches, but no scuffs or deep scratches. Sounds great...with some light surface noise between tracks, but very little on the tracks themselves. Sleeve has seen better days...some light stains and discoloration on front, with some storage wear...light creasing to bottom right hand corner. No seam splits, rips, tears. Comes with two of the three original Bill Bissett art inserts (these are often ALL missing)...both are folded to fit in the sleeve, on has a small bit of paper loss near one corner. Definitely not a collectors piece, but this would make a great, less expensive, place holder. Record still plays really well...and the sleeve doesn't look too shabby.
