Title: Sounds of the Bay Area
Label: KQED
Condition:
Disc: EX
Cover: VG+
A must for the Bill Fontana, Sound Art, Sound Sculpture collector, this is “Sounds of the Bay Area,” an EXTREMELY RARE album combining input from multiple soundscapes from around the San Francisco Bay Area, including resonating exhaust ducts, an expansion joint from the Golden Gate Bridge, foghorns, and other ambient sounds. A fascinating mixture of chance-based avant-garde music with absolutely beautiful field recordings...I can't praise it highly enough!
Released in 1983 by radio station KQED-FM, which originally broadcast these and other soundscapes by Fontana.
The Disc is in Excellent condition with a bit of surface noise from time to time which must be in the pressing, as it looks like new with full gloss. The Jacket is in VG+ condition with a small ding in the spine and a very small split in the laminate along the top (not a seam split that goes through the jacket).
