A scarce 1951 Holiday Records 78rpm capturing Bill Haley at age 25, years before fame and at the very roots of his sound.

Offered here is an original 1951 78rpm pressing on Holiday Records (No. 110) by Bill & Loretta with The Saddlemen, an important pre-Bill Haley & His Comets recording from the very dawn of Haley’s career.
Released when Bill Haley was just 25 years old, this record captures him years before international fame, still deeply rooted in blues, country, and early rhythm & blues traditions. Rather than later uptempo rock ’n’ roll, the sound is moody and blues-inflected, with relaxed swing and expressive early-1950s vocals.
Pressed on the short-lived Holiday label out of Philadelphia, original copies were produced in very limited numbers.
Publicly documented sales of this exact record have reached $640 USD (April 2019) and $610 USD (May 2022), underlining its long-term desirability and collector demand.
