Hello and welcome. Beginning in the 1960s, I made it my goal to collect interesting records of all sizes and speeds. Among these are vintage "78s" of many genres. While they are definitely NOT of the computer world, they are the medium used for recorded music longer than any other ever was or will be, and they do represent an undying search for the unique and wonderful in the world of sound. I'm happy to be able to offer them to you now. Here is what you're bidding on:  
TITLE & ARTIST: "Rock the Joint/Icy Heart" - by Bill Haley with the Saddlemen on the Essex Record label (303), in beautiful original monophonic sound. 
CONDITION: LABELS - EX(Light spindle marks); RECORD - EX(Essex 78 rpm record has a few light scuff marks, but is very close to Near Mint; plays beautifully with strong clear sound) - visually graded under special daylight balanced spotlight; aurally graded on my 78 turntable).  IMPORTANT NOTICE: The photos included are the actual item offered; please examine them carefully; thanks.
SPECIAL FEATURES: The record is in spectacular condition, especially when we consider that it has borne the responsibility of being the "first rock'n'roll record recorded by a white guy" (at least according to many in the know - although I would vote for "That's Alright" for that honor) for so many decades. If you love the world of vintage rock'n'roll records from more than seven decades ago, please don't miss this one. "Rock the Joint" makes an early argument for guitar-driven rock'n'roll (later reinforced by a guy named Scottie), but you'll never convince me it beats the sax. All you need now is a vintage Wurlitzer from 1946 that bubbles to the beat of this great music.

OUR GRADING SYSTEM: We grade visually, and we are happy to listen to any 78 and give you an aural grade as well. SS (Still Sealed as from the factory); NM (Near Mint - our highest grade; the record has only a very few light marks that do not affect play); VG++ (Very Good Plus Plus - a few more light marks than Near Mint; still a great record that plays near perfectly); VG+ (Very Good Plus - an enjoyable, played and loved, obviously used but still listenable record, usually with some light pops, but free of major audible distraction); VG (Very Good) and below - we usually do NOT sell these, but if we have some good reason to offer such a record, we will explain completely).
