This is an ORIGINAL 1968 STEREO ORANGE AND BLACK LABEL FIRST PRESSING of the rare and sought-after self-titled LP from Bill Plummer And The Cosmic Brotherhood. It is a U.S. press Impulse Records LP, catalog number A-9164. Originally a traditional jazz artist and session man, Bill Plummer turned toward Indian music after an encounter with Hari Har Rao increased his interest in the music of the East, leading to private study on the sitar and his participation in the Hindustani Jazz Sextet. This album represents a fusion of modern jazz and Indian music, and features early work from a 19-year-old Tom Scott - Personnel: Bill Plummer, Hersh Hamel, Ray Neopolitan-sitars / Jan Steward-sardoe / Hersh Hamel, Jan Steward-tambura / Milt Holland-tabla / Mike Craden-tranceleste, duo vigong, American tree bells, boo bams, surrogate vithara, which stand / Mike Lang-piano, harpsichord / Lynn Blessing-vibes, bells / Ray Anthony, Dennis Budimer-guitars / Tom Scott-sax, flute, electronics / Carol Kaye-Fender bass/ Bill Plummer-string bass / Maurice Miller, Bill Goodwin-drums. Condition of laminated gatefold cover is also a nice VG++/NM- with the only real flaws being a tiny bit of age discoloration on the insdie over along one edge and a tiny bit of wear along the edges and on the corners.
