BILLIE HOLIDAY Songs For Distingué Lovers
New & Sealed One Sided, 2 Disc Audiophile Pressing - 45 RPM Series
Record Label: Classic Records/Verve MG VS 6021
The classic Verve 1957 release given the full analog audiophile treatment by the late, lamented Classic Records.
Highly collectable release from audiophile label, Classic Records. This title was mastered at Half Speed from the original source master tapes. An all-analog, tube amplification process was used at every step, then pressed on high quality virgin vinyl, one sided at 45 RPM, for the highest possible audio quality.
Classic Records used a proprietary vinyl that guaranteed virtually no surface noise and sonically superior dynamics.
In short, this is as good as this album is ever going to sound on vinyl. Don't wait... this two record set is long out of print and growing harder to find - especially in this brand new, still sealed condition.
The records are new and still sealed in their original tight shrink wrap. Corners are sharp, colors vibrant and spines are straight. There are no flaws or blemishes. 100% mint.

Review: Comprised of the last five studio dates Holiday did for Verve, SONGS FOR DISTINGUE LOVERS finds Lady Day operating within her ideal environment; that of a small jazz combo. Accompanied by a legendary line-up including Sweets Edison, Ben Webster and Barney Kessel, Holiday sang with the clear enunciation and easy swing that had become her trademark. Wrapping her phrasing around standards by Rodgers & Hart, The Gershwins and Cole Porter, Billie Holiday demonstrated how years of singing with various jazz bands sharpened her ability to turn a song on its head through slight fluctuations in pitch and tone color.
