Description
On offer is an original monaural pressing of the 1958 Billie Holiday LP, The Blues are Brewin', Decca DL 8701. It features two tracks in which Louis Armstrong joins Billie Holiday on vocals.
Side 1 plays great, sounds great -- full and clear. The playback is clean except for a handful of light clicks. The vinyl still has shine and gloss. A few light hairlines. Grades Excellent by the Record Collector magazine definition "The record shows some signs of having been played but there is very little lessening in sound quality."
Side 2 is not quite so good because the first track plays with light crackle. Nothing dramatic, but noticeable. The second track has better playback. And from there on, the quality is about the same as Side 1. Side 2 has some hairline marks but nothing that is an actual scratch.
The cover is in very nice condition with only slight wear to edges and corners. No writing, tears or creasing. There is a three-inch split in the top seam starting at the opening for the record.
