Billy Fury - Silly Boy Blue/ One Minute Woman 

(Parlophone R5681 UK 7" 1968)

 

This is a UK 1st Pressing 7" Single in superb condition!  The record has black & silver "Parlophone" labels which have a 4 pronged centre. The labels have "The Gramophone Co.." and "Sold in UK..." texts on them. The "KT" tax code is embossed around the spindle hole on the A-side. It has 1st press -1/ -1 matrix stampers. It comes complete with its original Parlophone company paper sleeve.

This is one of his rarest & most collectable UK 7" single releases. Primarily because the A-side is a cover of a "David Bowie" track. It appears on his debut "Deram" LP. It is one of the earliest Bowie cover versions released. The B-side is a "Bee Gees" cover. This single is especially difficult to find in this superb condition. Vinyl: Looks hardly played! It still gleams like new! There is a tiny pin-head sized pressing blob at the end of the B-side. It is just as the dead wax starts. It causes 3 or 4 minor dull clicks (see below). Otherwise, there are next to no sleeve rubs which can be seen when viewed under a strong light. The paper sleeve, over time, has left some light, mild or very mild dull surface marks on a few areas. They are mainly on the play-out dead wax areas. These, again, can only be seen under a strong light. A strong EXCELLENT+ condition. Very close to being in Near Mint condition! The labels are in Near Mint condition and show next to no spindle wear. The company paper sleeve is in Near Excellent condition. It shows some light, very mild or very minor ringwear & fading. The catalogue number has been neatly written in one corner tip area on the front. There are no seam splits.

I have play tested this single in its entirety & it plays Excellent to Excellent+ overall. As stated, the very tiny pressing blob on the B-side causes 3 or 4 minor dull clicks at the very end of the track. It hardly really notices. There are no other clicks or pops, Overall, a great audio copy!

  >>  Grading Information All grading is very strict & adheres to 'Record Collector' specifications. However, I have fine tuned them & they are explained below. All vinyl is examined closely under a strong light & play tested.

MINT Condition = A perfect copy! Almost impossible to find like this. 

NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, There may be a very few, very light paper surface sleeve rubs that can hardly be seen under strong light. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. The sleeve is virtually perfect - there is very minimal wear only.

EXCELLENT Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows minimal defects. There will be light, very mild or very minor surface sleeve rubs. There will be no scratches. The cover will be very nice & clean with maybe minimal creasing, ringwear or edge rubbing wear etc...

NEAR EXCELLENT Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times, but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only. The sleeve may have light, mild or very mild creasing,ringwear & very mild rubbing wear to the edges etc.... Overall, it will be a very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.

Very Good Condition = A well played but very decent overall copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears etc... The record will not be trashed!!

Please note that I also use "+" or "-" symbols for this grading. A plus symbol is obviously at the top end of "Very Good" & is really not far from being in "near excellent" condition. The minus symbol obviously means it is at the lower end. This will mean that it is near to being in "Good+" condition.

Royal Mail have very recently increased their postage rates. So I have revised my postage costs to reflect their increases. (Please note that these prices include packaging costs too) 
Double LPs are classed as two LPs. Also posters, inserts, etc.. can increase postage costs. One parcel must not exceed 2kg (approximately 4-6 LPS).

All records will be sent in high quality vinyl mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7" Single. I use a cruciform box for larger orders (3-6 LPs). All parcels will be marked "Fragile" and dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment.

I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve & place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve; I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP(s).

I consider my postage & packaging costs to be very transparent & very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between £0.80 to £1.50. I am not adding any further costs for handling, etc...
