GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie il controllo viene effettuato sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i dischi in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati, i 33 giri su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1 mentre gli EP e i singoli a 45 giri con un Thorens TD 166 BC fornito di una testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : motociclisti fuorilegge, tutti con Kawasaki 900, e membri del Grave Diggers Motorcycle Club (Club motociclistico dei becchini) vengono uccisi uno dietro l'altro. Per risolvere il caso il detective Stone s'infiltra nella banda....  All'epoca quest'opera cinematografica non raccolse molto successo ma è diventato nel tempo un film culto molto apprezzato pure da Quentin Tarantino. La sua colonna sonora che comprende 10 brani strumentali e 2, canzoni riflette benissimo le varie fasi della trama, contrariamente a molti biker films che includevano canzoni già precedentemente pubblicate o deboli musiche di scena come spesso accadeva con Mike Curb o Dave Allen & The Arrows. Le tracce sono in prevalenza rock con chitarra elettrica, basso, batteria e tastiere ma in alcuni casi assistiamo a piacevoli fusioni tra musica rock, sperimentale, country, jazz e anche classica. Fra le tracce: "Cosmic Flash" (a1) dall'inizio lento con suono di violino e viola poi moog e basso alzano fortemente il ritmo mentre Doug Parkinson canta superbamente accompagnato dalla chitarra con sfumature spagnoleggianti. "Septic" (a2) con banjo e chitarra ha una simpatica sfumatura country, "Undertaker" (a4) è caratterizzata da sonorità blueseggianti con una grande chitarra in rilievo supportata da piano elettrico e basso. "Toadstrip" (b1) con armoniose e seducenti vibrazioni del moog che si scontrano con il vigore delle percussioni e della batteria creando una sorta di atmosfera ipnotica. Buona musica rock in "Grave Diggers" (b2) con ottima chitarra supportata da basso e batteria così come in "Pigs" (b5) e "Stone" (b6). Infine la bella canzone "Do Not Go Gentle" (b7) con liriche prese dalla poesia di Dylan Thomas "Do not go gentle into that good night", sempre cantata da Doug Parkinson con ottime sonorità di piano, chitarra, basso e batteria.

Notes : outlaw bikers, all with Kawasaki 900, and members of the Grave Diggers Motorcycle Club are killed one after another. To solve this case the undercover detective Stone enters in the gang .... At that time this cinematographic work was not very successful, but over time it has become a cult film, also appreciated by Quentin Tarantino. Its soundtrack including 10 instrumental tunes and 2 songs, reflects very well the various sequences of the plot, unlike many biker movies which included previously released songs or useless incidental music as sometimes it happened with Mike Curb or Dave Allen & The Arrows. The tracks are mostly rock with electric guitar, bass, drums and keyboards, but in some cases we find pleasant fusions between rock, experimental sonorities, country, jazz and classical music. Among the tracks: "Cosmic Flash" (a1) from the slow beginning with sound of violin and viola then moog and bass rise strongly the rhythm while Doug Parkinson sings magnificently accompanied by the guitar with Spanish style tinges. "Septic" (a2) with banjo and guitar has a nice country shade, "Undertaker" (a4) is characterized by bluesy theme with a great guitar in prominence supported by electric piano and bass. "Toadstrip" (b1) with harmonious and seductive moog vibrations colliding with the force of the percussion and drums, creating a sort of hypnotic atmosphere. Some good rock music in "Grave Diggers" (b2) with an excellent guitar backed by bass and drums as well as in "Pigs" (b5) and "Stone" (b6). Finally, the beautiful song "Do Not Go Gentle" (b7) with lyrics from the poem by Dylan Thomas' "Do not go gentle into that good night", again sung by Doug Parkinson with excellent sonorities of piano, guitar, bass and drums.
