BILLY MITCHELL – THIS IS BILLY MITCHELL – SMASH MGS 27027 – NM - MONO

There are two sessions on this LP. The first was recorded on October 29, 1962 and features Billy Mitchell on tenor, Bobby Hutcherson on vibes, Clarence “Sleepy” Anderson on organ, Herman Wright on bass and Otis “Candy” Finch on drums. Their selections are: JUST WAITING; SOPHISTICATED LADY and J & B. The second session was recorded on October 30, 1962 with Mitchell on tenor, Dave Burns on trumpet, Bobby Hutcherson on vibes, Billy Wallace on piano, Herman Wright on bass and Otis “Candy” Finch on drums. They perform: AUTOMATION; SIAM; PASSIONNOVA; YOU TURNED THE TABLES ON ME and TAMARA. This is a Mono recording.

I rated this LP as NM (Near Mint) for the following reason. The vinyl is perfect on both sides. No sign of wear. There are no marks around the spindle hole on either side. There is, however, a small drill mark in the cover and through the center of the LP. What a lousy practice! The cover is in excellent condition on both sides. There is a small wear area in the top seam on the cover, right in the middle. If you have any questions, please email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks.
