Billy Nicholls – Would You Believe 7” (orig. Australia Immediate MONO IM-1501)

Australian Release date: March 1968 (UK Release date: 12 January 1968).  Recording dates: late 1967.

On offer here is an EXTREMELY RARE original Australian issue of “Would You Believe” 7” single by IMMEDIATE’s in-house songwriter & recording artist BILLY NICHOLLS.  Both tracks were recorded at Olympic Sound Studios in LONDON with the SMALL FACES, along with some other music heavyweights.

The “Would You Believe” album is the stuff of legend; a grandiose ANDREW LOOG OLDHAM production which reached completion only for the resultant long play to be cancelled at the eleventh hour.  Here then is a sampler of what could have been!

visual: beautiful glossy sheen—some hairlines & few light surface scuffs (side 1: VG+ / side 2: VG++) (seen under strong light).

audible: EX sounds superb despite some insignificant underlying static.  A HIGHLY ENJOYABLE LISTENING EXPERIENCE!

labels: HARDLY ANY SPINDLE WEAR / “T.S.” written in pen + label residue (side 1), “T.S” & name written in pen + small tear (side 2).
