Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 albums that I have aquired over a period of more than 45 years! An awesome original 1st UK Pressing of Billy Preston, "That's The Way God Planned It".

This vinyl is the original and free from any warping. A rare 59 year old archive with the earliest -3 -3 matrix endings and earliest "1"to"1" Mother stampers, (earliest for the best audio quality on vinyl) On inspection this vinyl looks absolutely stunning for its age with no nasty scratches or marks that would cause any loud or constant clicks or pops.. Any marks that could possibly be seen would be sleeve removal only. A beautiful sounding copy rich and very vibrant only found like this on the earliest pressings!! There are isolated static ticks/light pops heard only in between some tracks or perhapes in quieter places only.  This is complete with the original  1st issue fully-laminated cover in decent condition it has light storage wear creases with age to mention.  Very, very hard to ever find with decent audio like this after 53 years.

That's The Way God Planned It is the fourth studio album by American musician Billy Preston, released in August 1969 on Apple Records.

The album followed Preston's collaboration with the Beatles on their "Get Back" single and was produced by George Harrison.

The title track became a hit in the UK when issued as a single. Aside from Harrison, other contributors to the album include Keith Richards, Eric Clapton and Doris Troy.

Derek Taylor's sleevenotes to the original Apple release praised Preston as a wonderful new signing.

"Billy Preston is the best thing to happen to Apple this year. He’s young and beautiful and kind and he sings and plays like the son of God."

The labels
The original Dark Apple labels! (only 1st UK press)  Minimal spidering can be seen when angled to the light only, but little if (no) spindle ware, the hole is perfectly round. This has only ever been played a minimal amount of times only. A rare album that is over 53 years old! Impossible to find like this! very very collectable!

The vinyl
The vinyl is absolutely superbe! On initial visual inspection this looks superb Excellent -plus in my opinion, and still retains its sheen from new and is free of any warping and lays flat on the turntable. (please note this vinyl has only ever been played  just a minimal amount of times only! in the last 45 years this has been stored in a case with the vinyl separated from the sleeve and cover, this is how I have always stored my records In fact even when I look at the playing surface angled to a strong light thee are just minor sleeve removal surface marks. Importantly there are no audio sounding marks or blemishes that would cause and loud nasty constant clicks or pops and certainly no distortion or signs that this has been over played in my opinion.

The Audio Quality
I have played this through track for track prior to listing at very very loud volume on a top system! The moment the needle hits the playing surface it is obvious this vinyl has only been played a minimal amount of times in my opinion! The audio quality is superbe, TOP, crystal clear and extremely vibrant through out! Points to note! Please allow for isolated static/ticks in between some tracks or in quieter places only. This will need a constant clean before each play to reduce any static or crackle and enhance the audio quality.. This played through lovely with superb audio separation and stunning bassey feel throughout on my systems without distortion or signs that this has been over played in my opinion! This vinyl has been stored separately from the cover in a poly sleeve for over 45 years! This is the way I always have stores my records! Please check my completed listings of records that I have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right! I would grade the audio at Audio at least Excellent in my opinion! (listen in the player above)

Please note! That i always make this disclaimer! That although I never heard any loud constant clicks or pops during the play of this record please allow for the odd isolated static/ ticks , certainly not consistent throughout the audio, but this is a genuine 53 year old vinyl that would have been played on a 53 year old system!

Points to note! This has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 45 years! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves from laying dormant causes static crackle\ticks! A constant clean before each play is recommended ! This would reduce any static and enhance the audio quality! There was isolated light static ticks heard which will be reduced if cleaned each time before play.

The Record Sleeve
This is the black paper record sleeve becoming fragile with age very light creasing only.

The Cover
This is the original and earliest 1st UK press Fully laminated cover! Super glossy laminate! There are no splits or tears and without and nasty ring wear. There are some thumb type creases noted on the front and the cover is slightly uneven. Storage wear/creases noted also at the corners. Light browning at the rear to mention but nothing too bad. All text is fully legible at the spine. Still a decent cover for 53 years old and original!
