Description

Aaron Copland & The LSO -
BILLY THE KID, Ballet Suite –
DCC Heavy-Vinyl Audiophile Edition LPZ-2035
of Everest Silverback SDBR-3015 –
AWESOME!

Some of the best recordings ever made didn't come from Rca or Mercury.  Some came from  Everest, back when it was the Belock Company.

That said, this indeed is the famous Bert Whyte recording captured in 1958 at Walthamstow Assembly Hall, London, only this is the DCC edition, re-mastered by Steve Hoffman, plated by RTI, and pressed on 180-gram virgin vinyl.

It is, without question, the finest sounding BILLY THE KID with composer Copland at baton, with an extraordinary openness that allows you to hear everything, from the gunfight to the escape to all that Western-style Hoopla.  Leaves you breathless, in fact.

Great re-mastering, of a great musical happening, here in a jacket that is very crisp and clean, heavy platter within is near mint, perhaps better.  (Shows very little sign of play.)

Invite friends over for this one…it’s a jaw dropper.

Record No. 299 in this first stamper edition.
