Billy Van Singers-Polydor Proudly Presents The Billy Van Singers, Polydor, 542.003, Late 60s. Rare Canadian-only sunshine pop masterpiece. Billy Van is a multi-talented singer and songwriter in addition to the chief force behind the bizarre and fantastic The Hilarious House Of Frightenstein TV program from the seventies starting Van and Vincent Price. This LP is a little-known cousin to the Mutual Understanding In Wonderland disc on CBC/Nimbus 9 and features Mutual Understanding members Laurie Bower and Patti Van Evra (Billy Van's wife). The Billy Van Singers explodes with baroque styings, psychedelic pop, bossa nova rhythms, ripping fuzz guitar, plucked bass-lines, fluttering jazz traps, scat, vocalese, harmony vocals, and arrangements of the highest caliber.
