This was the Founding Father of Mothern Rhythm & Blues' FINAL album, and the ONLY one he EVER recorded in TRUE STEREO. On this one, Billy Ward covers a great selection of Pacific traditionals and love songs (hence the politically incorrect title).

All Billy Ward albums - whether on King, Decca, or Liberty are exquisitely rare, extremely collectable and quite coveted, but this one is ridiculously rare and has got to be one of the rarest Billy Ward LPs ever. This mega-rarity is the only STEREO copy of this album we have seen in this lifetime. An absolutely CRITICAL early R & B album, not to be missed!!! These records are generally considered to be the "first among equals": the VERY FIRST generation and the VERY FIRST pressings of the particular title; a PROTOTYPE and the earliest known official pressing of the record.

(a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL AS STRONG VERY GOOD++ . CAUTION: The vinyl is NOT MINT or NEAR MINT, but is nevertheless in a very nice and clean condition. There are some surface marks and abrasions, mostly light and superficial, although some may be longer than 1.1/4 inches (1 inch = 2.5 centimeters)

(b)          The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)           Stereo  pressing of this title is much rarer, and by far more preferable to its mono  counterpart. The mix is more graphic, the sound resolution more precise, and the channel separation (which does not exist on mono version) adds a whole new dimension to the music. Also, the stereo mixes are (by definition) somewhat different than on the mono version. We estimate that mono copies of this album outnumber stereo copies  by a ratio of at least 20:1.

(d)            White Promo Label version of this title is much rarer that a regular, commercially released, version of this title. We estimate that stock copies of this album outnumber promo copies by a ratio of at least 100:1.

(e)           The record has a "deep groove" (an indent in the label about 1/2-inch from the edge of the label, which on SOME labels is associated with very early or first pressings).

(f)            Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·       COVER

THE COVER IS ABOUT VERY GOOD+ (VG+)

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-        Cover has a completely split spine.  This split seam was delicately taped by the previous owner with a piece of transparent scotch tape

-        Cover has a partially split top seam (between 8 and 10 inches  / 20 to 22 centimeters); This split seam was delicately taped by the previous owner with a piece of transparent scotch tape

-        Cover has a partially split bottom seam (between 8 and 10 inches  / 20 to 22 centimeters)

-        Cover has a partially split bottom seam (more than 10 inches / 22 centimeters); This split seam was delicately taped by the previous owner with a piece of transparent scotch tape

-         Cover has some visible fraying/tattering on all three seams

-         Cover has all four corners slightly worn / dinged / bent.

-         Cover has some light ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 2   (front side) and 4 (back side)

-         Back cover has circular tarnish (grayish, dust-covered sections, which closely follow the contour of the record),  probably caused by friction or by rubbing against other covers during the storage. The tarnish is similar in appearance to a common ring wear, but, UNLIKE ring wear, these grayish areas may be possible to clean up with a minor effort and with a right cleansing solution.

-         Cover has a tape residue (yellowish discoloration from the removed piece of old and aged scotch tape)

-         Cover has some tiny, faint, barely visible writing on its back side  (a few tracks crossed off)

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-        No cut-out (drill) holes.

-        No cut-out corners

-        No saw-marks or indents

-        No wrinkles or creases

-        No stamps

-        No peel-off marks

-        No mold or mildew spots

-        No stickers or labels

-        No water damage

-        No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or  cuts.

-        No warping

-        No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-        No glue traces or wax residue.

-        No bar codes

-        No RIAA stamps or stickers.
