BIMBO - as sung by THURL RAVENSCROFT ('Tony the Tiger") It is probably impossible to have grown up without having heard the deep DEEP voice of THURL RAVENSCROFT. If it were only Tony the TIger, that might be true, but he has been heard in countless Disney productions, tv special and cartoons, and as back up (with The Mellomen) on records by countless famous vocalists. BIMBO is a catchy tune from the late forties or early fifties, and though i recall it as inescapable, it seems not to have charted pop wise, only country. Still, it was on every station at the time. Thurl's version is one of the lesser known ones. He is accompanied by PAUL WESTON and his Orchestra & The Mellomen. The single is on COLUMBIA Records and this is a PROMO copy. A sticker on each label, and some residue where a sticker was removed, but the vinyl is in near LIKE NEW condition. (Side 2 is 'CHAMPAGNE WINE' with Paul Weston and The Norman Luboff Choir).
