Very nice early copy of Bing Crosby's 1942 recording of White Christmas on Decca 78 record 18429, or DLA-3009. This is the 1945 pressing which was issued in both the Merry Christmas album set and the Holiday Inn album set, as well as simply as a single. They used the same label for all three. And as I mentioned, this is the actual origin recording from 1942. He re-recorded it in 1947 and all the subsequent copies are that later version. Anyhow this copy is quite lovely. There is a little surface wear but it actually plays very nicely with just a little background noise. There is an edge chip but it does not reach the grooves and does not affect the play at all.
