Description
Lovely copy of the original 1942 recording of Bing’s classic of classics, White Christmas b/w Let’s Start the New Year Right, on Decca 18429. This is the actual original version he recorded in 1942, the master for which wore out by the mid 40s, so he had to re-record it for all subsequent pressings. Hard to find a good copy of the original recording on 78! This copy has a little superficial wear but really not bad. It is a great player and sounds just lovely and clear with minimal background noise. There is also an edge chip but it doesn’t touch the grooves (see photo). Still this is a quite lovely copy.
