STRANGE UK EMI MISPRESSING!!

BEATLES/BEACH BOYS/HERMAN'S HERMITS??!

I still don't know what to make of this... I thought the best thing to do was stick it up here and see what happens!!

I got this during a house clearance last year in a big box of singles - I had only started going through the leftovers of the box last week and must have initially thought this was just a Beach Boys single - but then when I looked I saw what can only be one of the strangest mispressings out there!!

The side 1 label is The Beach Boys' Wouldn't It Be Nice - original UK label

The side 2 label is side 2 of The Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour - original UK mono label

The disc itself has the run-outs RAK 102 A-1/B-1 - this is Herman's Hermits' Bet Yer Life I Do / Searching For The Southern Sun!! Most bizarre is that the single itself came out in 1970 but both labels are from 1966 and '67 respectively.

I have taken a few close-up photos of each side to try and show the stampers and the centre-hole - there's no sign of the RAK labels lurking underneath - if there were 2 labels you would really notice it - no signs of foul play. My only guess is that an EMI employee was having a laugh - but how did this even make its way to the shops??

This is a nice interesting piece for any music collector I'd say - more of a novelty than anything. Bid away (or not...)!!

MORE GREAT SINGLES LISTED THIS WEEK - ALL STARTING AT £2 AND ALL IN NICE SHAPE!! HAVE A LOOK!!

Disc is VG+ : marks and scuffs but nothing too bad, plays with some crackle

RUN-OUTS

SIDE 1 : RAK 102 A-1 stamped

SIDE 2 : RAK 102 B-1 stamped
