Description

BIZET L'Arlesienne - Suite No.1 PCO CLUYTENS  1. MONO EDITION EMI FRANCE I PLAY GRADED BOTH SIDES FROM START TO FINISH  ON A QUALITY SYSTEM - PLAYS PERFECTLY - LIKE A NEW RECORD - MINT VINYL !
COLUMBIA FCX-1000 = 33CX-1925 [MONO PRESSING OF COLUMBIA SAX-2566]  DELUXE ETUI SLEEVE [Inner sleeve has timber spine covered in printed fabric] Pressing quality at least equal to the UK issue. Sleeve clearly superior. MATRIX: M6 232947/ M6 232946  XLX 110321/ XLX 110221
I directly compared the sound of this French mono pressing with the original £2000 stereo. With my preamp switched to mono audio quality and level (via a single Tannoy corner speaker) were 100% identical.
Thank you Buyer:  hwooso ( 1001)  During past year   COLUMBIA SAX 2566 BIZET PCO CLUYTENS 1.EDITION MINT VINYL LOOKS NEW CLEAN SLEEVE (#173140318814) £2,195.00

  • I do not own a copy of 33CX 1925 for A/B comparison of French v.UK pressings. More than likely there isn't the slightest difference.
  • Comparing SAX 2566 with FCX-1000 shows laquers & stampers were made by the same engineers using the same cutting lathe. The EMI pressing plant had the same state of the art machines as EMI Hayes.
  • Position and font of matrix numbers on this pressing are identical to SAX-2566.
  • The run out grooves also look identical.

THE VINYL LOOKS NEW - LITERALLY - AS IF IT HAD NEVER BEEN PLAYED,

NO SPINDLE MARKS ON EITHER LABEL.
Sleeve: Look at photo of the front right corner.  A sticker has been torn off !  A very small area of paper is damaged !

Re: Vinyl & Sleeve Grading

I bought several records online, which I had hoped to enjoy. I soon realized that many record sellers fail totally in their description.

It's only human to make mistakes but what excuse is there for not listing tracks/artists and truthfully describe physical marks on vinyl surfaces?

None !   If a record does not look totally new, listening and often playing both sides entirely is essential.

Play grading and making accurate descriptions take (a lot of) time. This time is reflected in my prices. It's good money well spent because there is nothing worse than opening an eagerly awaited package and as soon as you see the vinyl you know there will be ticks and pops and crackly noise on all quiet parts, yet the seller had written ex or even ex+ in the description.
