Description

Black Oak Arkansas

'S/T'

Atlantic, UK, 1971

2400180

BLACK OAKS's rural ethics played a major part in the construction of their debut album (co-produced by Iron Butterfly members Lee Dorman & Mike Pinera in Los Angeles) bathed in country rock and ego brusing guitar jams. The main thread of consistancy is Jim Dandy's learing, cock strutting vocals which assume an overwhelming personality of their own. One need look no further than the cover of 'Singing The Blues' which allows Dandy to ham the lyrical content to almost music hall proportions. On the hard rock side of the fence, you'll find some killer excursions - 'I Could Love You' and 'Hot And Nasty' are two super fine examples.
