Description

BLACK SABBATH "BLACK SABBATH" 1997 U.K. Castle "Original Recordings" exact repro gatefold LP w/bonus single. Originally issued as Vertigo V06 in 1970. Stereo ORRLP 004. Limited edition #1912 of 5000. MINT!

Black Sabbath are now known as the "Originators of Heavy Metal" & this debut album from 1970 helped to establish that claim. Many of their early classic songs are presented here- "The Wizard", "N.I.B" & the title track among them. The group consisted of the original four piece- Tony Iommi on lead guitar, Geezer Butler on bass, Bill Ward on drums & Ozzy Osboune on vocals. Curiously, one of the best tracks-"Wicked World" was left off the U.K. album in favor of their cover of Crow's "Evil Woman (Don't Play Your Games With Me)". Have no fear since both tracks appear as the bonus single included in this package. This is the complete package with the 4 page insert featuring the track listing & credits, lyrics, biography & a small b&w pic of the group, "obi" strip & bonus 45. This album was issued by Warner Brothers in the U.S. in 1970 as a non-gatefold omitting "Evil Woman" but including "Wicked World". Great sound on this heavyweight 160 gram remastered recording. Silver sticker on the back, lower left corner stating "Limited Edition- No. 1912 of 5000".

Laminated gatefold cover is bright & intact with no split seams- rated MINT. The 160 gram record plays perfectly with no scratches or scuffs. Very few spins on this MINT LP. The single, insert & "obi" strip are all in MINT condition. Comes with the original outer plastic bag.
